Books About Cars for Toddlers

Cars, trucks, and other vehicles fascinate little children.  They watch various vehicles while they are in a car and see them come alive in books.  Big red jeep goes, “Beep! Beep!” and “Vroom” goes sleek black sports car.  These books light a spark in a child’s heart and mind. My boy, now a toddler, loves them so much that the children’s books about cars are placed right next to his bed.

His current favorite book is “Toot Toot Beep Beep” by Emma Garcia.  His previous favorite book was “Honk Honk Woo Woo” by Emma Garcia. “Chugga Chugga Choo Choo” is another book by Emma Garcia that he loves.  As you read “Chugga Chugga Choo Choo” book, you can journey along the train to the seaside, to the farm, and to that station for a long, nice rest.

If you are looking for more classic, you can’t miss the “Little Blue Truck” by Alice Schertle.  My son loves hearing all the sounds that Little Blue Truck and his animal friends make as the Little Blue Truck travels along the countryside.  It is a good introduction to barnyard animals as well.

“Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site” and “The Little Engine That Could” are other classic books about cars.  “The Little Engine That Could” gives hope that even though you are little, the Little Engine thought he could, and he did it!

“Cars Go” by Steve Light is another one that you don’t want to miss. The Car of the Future even speaks, “Where would you like to go today?”  All the books are short and sweet.

Other classic books are “Good Night Gorilla,” “Goodnight Moon,” and “Big Red Barn” by Margaret Wise Brown.  These are not about cars, but you can’t go wrong with classic books.  It is a good keepsake because I tend to read these to my boy over and over for months.  “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle, and “From Head to Toe” by Eric Carle are books that we love.
